Step 1

To start using our new and improved online banking select the 'Log on' button on the top right of your screen.

Step 2

Enter your username and click 'Continue'.

Step 3

Log on securely by entering your security code and selecting 'Log on'.
To generate a new HSBC security code, select 'How to generate a security code.'

Step 4

Follow the instructions on the screen.

Step 5

Alternatively, you can log on using your existing password.

Redesigned for more ease and convenience, you can now view and manage all your local and global HSBC accounts from your home page.

You can look up and download account transactions made under any of your HSBC accounts by following these simple steps.

To search for a transaction, simply click on the 'Search and filter' feature on your account transaction page.

Step 2

Select the 'Date range' and/ or 'Keyword' and click 'Search' to filter your transactions.

Step 3

You can also download the transaction for easy access in the future.

With a few clicks you can bank at your convenience, so there's no more waiting in queues.

Step 1

To make a transfer, simply select 'Pay and transfer' from the top menu or from the 'Quick links' on the home page. Then select the account you wish to debit funds from.

Step 2

You can choose to make a transfer to saved beneficiaries or new ones.

Step 3

Fill in the details and click 'Continue'.

Step 4

Review the details of your transaction.

Step 5

And click 'Confirm' to complete your transaction.

Step 6

Make sure to note the 'Confirmation number' for future reference.

You can even choose to print the transaction details.

Our advanced responsive design makes it easy for you to bank on the move.

To activate your Secure Key, please make sure you have it with you.

Step 1

Enter your online banking username then select ’Continue’.

Step 2

Next, enter your password and log on.

Step 3

Select ‘Activate now’ to start the activation process.

Step 4

Follow the on-screen instructions, then select 'Activate now'.

Step 5

Check we have the right mobile number for you. If it’s correct, select ‘Request new activation code’. If it isn’t, call us on +973 17529462 (within and outside Bahrain) to update your number.

Step 6

We’ll send you an activation code by SMS message. If it doesn't reach you within a few minutes, you can request a new code.

Step 7

Enter the activation code we’ve sent you. Next, follow the other on-screen instructions then select ‘Activate now’.

Step 8

All done! Your Secure Key is now ready to use.

Step 1

Enter your online banking username then select ’Continue’.

Step 2

Select 'Continue using password'. (If you're already on the password page, go to Step 3.)

Select 'Forgotten your password?'.

Step 4

Follow the on-screen instructions to create a new password.

Step 5

Choose a new security question, then select 'Continue'.

To activate the log on details you've created, call us on the number shown. You'll need to quote the reference number shown on screen.

HSBC Secure Keys give you a unique passcode every time you log on and make a transfer or payment.

Step 1

Enter your online banking username then select ’Continue’.

Step 2

Next, enter your password and select 'Log on'.

Step 3

Select ‘Order Secure Key’ to place an order for your new Secure Key.

Step 4

Read the message, then select 'Order a Secure Key' to confirm your order.

Step 5

All done! Your Secure Key will be sent to your correspondence address within 5-15 days.

Never lose a bank statement

And if you ever need a paper copy of a statement, you can give us a call or visit us at your local branch to request one.

Online banking security

Your safety is paramount to us. Our online banking service is protected by industry-leading security technologies, providing the strongest defence against unauthorised access. We offer two log-on options for your convenience.

Passwords

This allows you to log on with a user name and password. When you log on with passwords, you can carry out simple day-to-day banking tasks.

Secure Key

This is an electronic portable security device which adds an extra layer of security to online banking. When you log on with the device, you get access to the full online banking service.

1. What has changed?

We are launching new Online Banking, introducing a fresh design, making it even easier for you to manage your accounts online in addition to being faster and simpler to move money between accounts and set up payments.

2. Will the new Online Banking service be secure?

Yes. Access to the new Online Banking service will be equally secure as before to ensure you and your finances are protected.

3. Do I need to take any action?

Yes. Simply log on to your Online Banking www.hsbc.com.bh and follow the on screen instructions.

4. Why does it appear that only some of the journeys and features have been updated?

Whilst we complete our Online Banking upgrade you will notice several features are still directing to existing pages. Over time these features will also be updated.

5. How does HSBC manage privacy and data security?

Your privacy and the security of your data is important to us. To learn more about privacy and security please visit www.hsbc.com.bh/privacy-and-security/. To find out more on how to stay safe online please refer to www.hsbc.com.bh/help/safeguard/.

1. How do I access the new Online Banking?

You'll be able to access the new Online Banking as normal via the www.hsbc.com.bh, using your existing log on details.

2. I can't remember my Online Banking ID, how can I retrieve it?

If you can't remember your Online Banking ID, please call us on +973 17529460 (within and outside Bahrain) and we can provide you with this information.

3. I can't remember my Password, how can I reset it?

If you haven't used your password for a while and can't remember it, you can reset it by logging onto Online Banking and selecting: "Change Internet Password" under "Services" and following the instructions on the screen.

4. I don't have my Secure Key, how can I replace it?

If you have lost your Secure Key, please contact us to deactivate it and order a new one. If you have forgotten your Secure Key PIN, enter your Online Banking ID on the PIB logon page and continue, select 'Forgotten your Secure Key Online Banking?' on the next page then follow the on screen instructions.

5. What internet browser and operating system will I need with the new HSBC Online Banking?

The new HSBC Online Banking requires the following internet browsers and operating systems as a minimum:

Internet browsers – Firefox 60, Google Chrome 40, Internet Explorer 10 and Safari 8
Operating systems – Windows 7,8 and 10, Max OSX 10.9

If you are using a browser or operating system outside this range it may not be compatible with the new HSBC Online Banking. It is advisable to upgrade or use one of the recommended supported operating system or browsers to access the new HSBC Online Banking.

1. I've forgotten my password and/or security question. How can I reset these?

Please enter your username on the logon page and choose to logon with password on the next screen. Select the 'Forgotten your password' link. Follow the onscreen instructions to reset your password and create a security question. You will then be given a reference number. Please call us on the number written at the back of your card and quote the reference number for your new credentials to be activated.

2. How can I change my password and/or security question?

Please enter your username on logon page and choose to login with Password on the next screen. Select the 'Forgotten your password' link. 1. How can I request a Secure key?

After first time registration to online banking, when you logon, if you have not requested a secure key, you will be directed to an Order Secure Key screen. You must select "Order a Secure Key" and follow the on screen instructions.

2. I don't have my Secure Key - what should I do?

Please visit any HSBC Qatar branch to collect your Secure Key.

3. I've lost my Secure Key - what should I do?

In the event you've lost your Secure Key, please immediately call us on +973 17529462 (within and outside Bahrain) to block your existing Secure Key and order a new one.

4. My Secure Key is not working - what should I do?

If your Secure Key is not working, please call us on +973 17529462 (within and outside Bahrain) to order a new Secure Key.

5. Can I log on without my Secure Key?

Yes, you can log on using your username and password. However, not all services will be available without your Secure Key.

6. What if my mobile number is incorrect when generating a new activation code?

Please contact us on +973 17529462 (within and outside Bahrain) so we can update this.

7. Where can I find the Secure Key serial number?

The Secure Key serial number is found in the bottom left corner, on the back of your Secure Key.

1. Why am I asked to verify my browser when logging on?

You are required to verify your browser whenever you log on the Online Banking with a new browser.

This enhanced feature is part of HSBC Online Banking security measures to protect our customers from unauthorized access.

2. I have logged on with the same browser before. Why am I asked to verify it again?

There can be some major changes to your device or browser such as software version update.

You are required to verify your browser again for security reasons.

3. My mobile number has changed. How can I receive the activation code to verify my browser?

The partial destination mobile number is shown on the verification instruction page when we send out the SMS activation code.

Please check if the number is yours and updated. If it is incorrect, please login to your Online Banking using Secure Key and navigate to "Update Personal Information" under services in main menu and amend appropriately. Otherwise you can contact us on +973 17529460 (within and outside Bahrain) or visit us in branch. You will be able to receive activation codes once your mobile phone number change request is processed.

4. What can I do if I cannot receive the SMS activation code to verify my browser?

You can request resending the SMS activation code or use your Security Device to verify your browser.

5. How can I log on with a new browser when I travel abroad?

Please contact your mobile network service provider if you can receive SMS when roaming.

You may also bring along your Security Device to verify your browser.

6. Should I allow the browser to be used in future?

When you verify your browser, there is an option to trust the browser for future use.

If you choose "Yes", you are not required to verify your browser again when logging on with the same browser.

You are recommended to choose "No" if you use a public computer to log on.

To search for a specific transaction, select the 'search' option above your transaction list. Search can only find transactions made in the last 90 days.

To view your historic statements, select 'e-statements / e-advices' and 'e-statements'.

Your recent transactions can be downloaded into CSV, OFX or QIF format, which allows them to work with other programs such as Microsoft Excel. Select the 'Download' button located beneath your transactions.

Historic statements are available to view online or download as a PDF only.

If you forgot your username, select 'forgotten username' on the log screen to retrieve it.

If you forgot your password, select, 'forgotten password' on the password screen to retrieve it. If you enter your password incorrectly too many times, you'll need to follow the prompts to retrieve your password.

On your online banking homepage, select 'Payment and transfers' and choose whether it's a new payee or an existing payee. If it's an existing payee, you will be able to select the company from a pre-defined list. If the company you want to pay is not on the list, you'll need to enter their details and use your Secure Key to finish the payment.
